Maintain a “training menu”, schedule ahead your training days/times and have your boy bring the menu to you prior to the training session. You can then choose which area he needs more training in. As the Master “yes” it is your responsibility to provide ALL of his training… and yes you do have to train him to do “everything”. But you do not have to do it all at once… Give him “freedom” to do shopping they way he sees fit… until you decide that he needs to be trained to do it better. He should be doing all of these things from day one (day one you can define his autonomous schedule and lay out your expectations of cleanliness and quality of work, I recommend making him keep a work-log-book so you can easily check up on what he has done that day). As you move forward re-train him to use the methods and techniques you prefer. Make sure you allocate “special” times for training, and forbid him to “fish” for training outside of these times, you don’t need him to become a “pest”.
